Mahelane Lodge is ideally situated on the western banks of the lagoon in Bilene. You may be in Bilene, but you could just as well be on a remote island any where in the world. That is the impression Mahelane Lodge offers, as it is only a 2 minute boat trip across the lagoon. The calm and clear waters of the lagoon gradually slope away from the white beach, one would think you could walk to the main land. And over the dunes behind the lodge, a leisurely 20 minute walk will lead you to the wide open waters of the sea.
Mahelane Lodge is a private resort and all facilities, restaurant, top bar and swimming pool are for residing guests only, thus ensuring your holiday as peaceful as possible. Mahelane Lodge offers a wide range of activities to choose from, and the kiddies have a unique play area on the beach.
There is no need to travel far North of Mozambique in order to catch that Big One. We have it all here. In fact, our waters are basically untouched, and there is so much to discover.

Property AmenitiesOur chalets are not self-catering. A full a-la-carte restaurant is available.
Chalets 1 & 4 (Sleeps 6)
The main bedroom has a queen sized bed.
The second bedroom has two single beds with a extended sleeping area in the lounge with two single beds.
Chalets 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 & 8 (Sleeps 4)
The main bedroom has a queen sized bed.
Two single beds in the extended sleeping area.
Chalets 9, 10 & 11
Are for couples.
Chalets 5, 6 & 11.
These chalets are situated higher than the other chalets. Please take note of these chalets when making reservations at the lodge, as elders and very young children may not be able to climb up to these chalets.
All our chalets are fitted with Air-con.

Launching of Boats and Jet Skis
Payable to Maritimo (The local Marine Authorities). This includes the inspection and the license for 30 days. Launch of boats is opposite the Petromoc (Petrol Station).
Quad Biking
Payable to Mahelane Lodge, this includes 1 return trip per bike. Quad Bikes are not available for hire in Bilene, but to bring your own and to transport the bikes across by barge is a very simple procedure.
Deep Sea Fishing Charters
17ft KingCat, fully rigged for game fish and Marlin. 22ft Rubber Duck. All bait and fishing equipment included.
