Ponta Malongane Holiday Resort is positioned at the Southern tip of Mozambique, only 10km from the North Eastern South African border. It will take you approximately 6 hours from Johannesburg and 4 hours from Durban to reach the border, then you enter through the Kosi Bay Border Post and travel 15km on sandy roads.
Although 4x4 is required, don’t let the fact of not having it stop you from coming. Your car can be safely parked at the South African border and then make use of a drive transfer to the resort. As you enter Mozambique your exciting experience already begins; the wild flowers, birds and wide-open spaces welcome you in true Mozambican style. The area consists of long and uninterrupted stretches of white sand beaches, high primary sandy dunes, coastal forests, inland flood plains and numerous lakes and accompanying marshlands.

Property AmenitiesLog Huts
- These 2-bed wooden huts are ideal for divers, since it is
situated very close to the dive camp and the Nascer do Sol Bar. There are 19 Log Huts available. Twin beds, Linen (bottom sheet, duvet/duvet cover, pillow, pillow case).
Dive Camp Tents
- We have 25 two-man dome tents available, 14 on deck and 11 on ground. There are no plug points supplied to the tents. Linen can be provided at an extra cost. Tents are ideal if you are planning on spending most of your time underwater, wandering and exploring our beautiful reefs.
Camp Sites
- Our campsites in Southern Mozambique are spread along the resort and are all well shaded by trees and close to the beach. We offer small, medium and large campsites (for 6, 8 and upto 12 people respectively). 5amp 3 point plug point on every camp site, Ablution blocks with hot and cold water situated near every camp site.
Rondavels
- Fridge / Freezer, Gas Cooker, Plastic Table with 4 chairs, Braai, 1 Double Bed and 2 Single Beds with mattresses, Bedding (duvet covers, duvet inners, fitted sheets, pillows and pillow cases)
Chalets
- 4 Four bed chalets, 4 Five bed chalets and 2 Six bed chalets available, all conveniently situated in the middle of the resort. Fridge / Freezer, Gas Cooker, Wooden table / bench, Portable Braai, 4 Single Beds with mattresses, Bedding (duvet covers, duvet inners, fitted sheets, pillows and pillow cases)
Loggerhead Tent
- This is our unique, private 8-man tent on decking, situated in the northern part of the resort. Not only does it have its own walkway to the beach, but it also has a wooden deck with an amazing sea view. The tent was initially established as accommodation for turtle researchers, who was observing the behavior of the loggerhead and leatherback turtles. It is perfect for nature lovers since it is literally covered in bush and also very close to the beach.
