Techo Banine is a 40 minute drive north of Ponta Malongane Village. If you like remote beach holidays then this is the spot!
A 4x4 is needed to get to Techo Banine.
The resort consists of 3 types of accommodation:
2 x SELF CATERING CHALETS
These 2 chalets are situated wall to wall. They are wooden chalets, each with its own private wooden outside deck overlooking the coastal forest. Each outside deck has a table and chairs for relaxing and dining outside. Each chalet has 2 bedrooms, the first bedrooms has 1 double bed and 2 single beds with a couch and shelving to unpack your clothes. Bedroom 2 has 1 double bed. All beds have mosquito nets. Both bedrooms have ceiling fans, no air con. There is 1 bathroom with a shower, toilet and basin. There is a gas geyser that supplies hot water. The kitchen is equipped for self catering and consists of an electric stove and oven, a standing fridge/freezer and enough crockery and cutlery for 6 people. These units are a 2 minute walk from the beach. Although they dont have sea views, you can hear the sea and its a short walk down onto the beach. Linen is provided.
6 x EN SUITE CHALETS
There are 6 chalets situated literally on the beach (you cant get closer to the beach than this). 2 of the chalets are situated privately on the one side of the resort and the other 4 chalets are situated nextdoor to each other on the opposite side of the resort. The wooden chalets each have an outside verandah with facing the sea. Inside the chalet is 1 x double with with a mosquito net and a ceiling fan. There is also a table and 2 chairs. The en suite bathroom is spacious and consists of a shower, toilet and basin. The bathrooms run off gas geysers. Each chalet has 4 South African plug points. The bedroom has a 3 shelved, locally made, woven shelve to unpack clothing. Linen is provided.
17 x CAMPSITES
There are 17 campsites, each campsite is around 18 square metres in size. The campsites dont have plug points, its just the actual camp site that you book. You can bring an extention chord with, around 10 meter extension will suffice. There are 2 ablution blocks. The female ablution block consists of 3 toilets, 2 showers and 3 basins. The male ablution block consists of 2 showers, 2 toilets and 3 basins. The ablution facilities and well maintained and clean. There is a communal kitchen area that is equipped.
Bath towels are provided in the chalets, please bring your own beach towels. Toilet paper is provided and cleaning materials are provided.
