The Chalets Paradysdunes include 6 apartment houses in different sizes. They are located 40 m above the beach, on the top of a dune. They have a very beautiful sight on the bay of Tofo and Tofinho. The complex is very quiet and every chalet is very individual and has a full equipped kitchen, own bathroom and a beautiful terrace.

The foundations of the buildings are constructed out of cement, but the main material used are wood and bamboos. There is a cleaning person washing up and taking care of the chalets. Everything will be provided for breakfast, but has to be prepared by clients themselves. The full equipped kitchen invites for self- cooking. Restaurants and bars are in closed vicinity. No need for a car in Tofo!

FLAMINGO LODGE
Flamingo Bay Water Lodge is situated in the pristine tidal bay of Inhambane. Just 5 km away from Barra Lodge, this high luxurious Lodge sets a new standard for Tourism in the area. From the historical city of Inhambane it is only a 30 minute drive to Flamingo Bay. This scenic drive winds through local villages and groves of tropical coconut forests.

The luxury water chalets are spacious and well appointed with balcony, wide opening sliding doors and air-conditioning. The chalets and furniture are constructed from beautiful local hardwoods from Mozambique. Each chalet is situated on stilts in the crystal clear tidal waters of Inhambane Bay. Sunbathing, swimming, snorkelling and boating may be enjoyed directly from each chalet.

POMENE BAY
Pomene Bay, located some hundred kilometers north of Inhambane, is one of the most picturesque areas in all of Mozambique. The wild and natural beauty of this Bay, which can only be reached by 4 X 4 vehicles, has remained entirely preserved and free from development. The breath-taking and beautiful landscape compensates the 4 hour drive from

TOFO.
The Pomene Lodge is located right on the lagoon which protects the bay, between the infinite blue reflections of the Indian Ocean and the crystal clear water of the Mangrove forest. In this unique environment, you can admire the sun at dawn as it rises above the Indian Ocean, or the beauty of dusk as it sets into the mangrove estuary, or the rose of a wing-filled sky of flamingos in flight.

Rental Houses on the Beach :
There are many styles of cottages and beach houses located in Tofo, facing the Ocean. Beach houses usually have two well sound proofed bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a salon/living area and a shaded porch or terrace. The houses are solid construction and not temporary structures. The Diving Club is next door and restaurants are within walking distance.

Hotel Marinhos :
A very classical hotel, "Cuban-style". The white building has been renovated two years ago. The location is perfect, just in the heart of the village, straight in front of the main beach.
All rooms have been renovated and have an en-suite bathroom, a roof-fan and a prepared mosquito net. The Four sea view rooms have a small private balcony and the two suites are facing the sea as well. They are upgraded with air-conditioning. The non sea-view rooms are simple and fulfill basic expectations.
The hotel has a bar-restaurant and one TV with satellite channels. The main Terrace gives a chance to overview the entire beach of Tofo. Breakfast is served in form of a buffet on the terrace of the hotel.

Area Attractions

Ocean safaris :
A ?Safari by boat? excursion to see humpback whales, whale sharks, manta rays or dolphins. Approximately 2 hours.

Horse Riding:
A fantastic way to discover the back country. Ride under palm trees, explore small local villages on horseback and for those more experienced riders, a brisk gallop along the beach!

Quad Bike Excursion:
Another way to explore the countryside, slightly more noisy than on horseback but fun, easy and accessible for most everyone.
There is a water sports activity shop in Tofo offering surf boards, kite surfing, windsurfing material, etc.

Excursion to Inhambane
Inhambane is a very old village with a long history. Well before Vasco de Gama set foot upon the ?terra de boa gente?, the Arabs had already installed their markets and set up a trading post. Later, the French used the port for slave traffic. The prolonged presence of the Portuguese strongly influenced the architectural style of the towns? buildings and structures.

The Indians or native people own most of the commerce and represent a large part of the local population. Many kinds of people from different origins and different religions live together peacefully in the town of Inhambane.

The town is known to be one of the cleanest in Africa and is very easy to visit on foot. The central market, with its brilliant colors, is not to be missed.It is also possible to go to Barra lodge in order to participate in the various activities organized by the Barra team (see Barra Lodge).
