Barra Lodge has secluded, untouched beaches, and bordered by the Inhambane estuary on one side and on the other side the sea. Barra Lodge is nestled among groves of coconut trees; all rooms have exquisite beach and sea views.
The accommodation at Barra Lodge is very comfortable. There are various options of accommodation that meet each individual's needs. Barra Lodges Beach Bar is a very popular meeting point. The tropical beach bar creates an atmosphere of relaxation where the best fisherman's yarns are heard. Here you are invited to get together in the evenings to watch the beautiful sunsets, partake in beach volley ball, pub games or simply sip and enjoy exotic cocktails. While you relax to the sight and the sound of the waves gently breaking on the shore, indulge your taste buds at our restaurant. Fresh seafood dominates the menu with prawns, calamari and fresh line fish remaining the ever popular favorites. Pub lunches and pizzas are on sale.
Property Amenities
Casitas - Our traditional Casitas are made of thatch, brick and reeds creating a charming atmosphere. Some have sea views and all are a stone's throw from the beach. Barra has 20 family casita's. All casita's have 1 double bed and 2 single beds as well as en-suite shower, toilet, handbasin. All bedding and mosquito nets are supplied and rooms are serviced daily. Tea & coffee is also available in the rooms.
Self-Catering Cottage: Each Self Catering Cottage has two bedrooms (sleeping 4 people), living area (sleeps 2 people), and kitchen, shower and separate toilet. There are six comfortable single beds. The shower has hot and cold water. All the basic amenities are supplied including a fridge, 2 plate gas stove, cutlery, crockery, pots, pans, utensils, mosquito net and bed linen. There are braai facilities at the cottages. These cottages are basic 'fisherman style' cottages. No bath towels will be supplied and units are not serviced daily. If guests would like to hire a housekeeper, please ask at the reception, it is 200 meticais for this. A key deposit of 500 mets for unit will be required upon check in. The units have no aircon, however do have fans.
